What the zones show

Data and definitions

Stats use the selected season’s published play-by-play aggregates. Passing attempts exclude sacks and two-point plays. Depth buckets follow the source: behind the line, 0–9, 10–19, 20–29 and 30+ air yards. League averages weight each team’s zone by attempts. Matchup edge compares a QB’s EPA per attempt with a defense’s EPA allowed; it is a descriptive comparison, not a prediction.

Missing time-to-throw and pressure tracking remain unavailable. A published aggregate of zero does not establish that a QB faced no pressure. Team affiliations belong to the selected season file.
